Count your script's characters and estimate narration length
Paste or type below. Nothing you enter here is sent anywhere — the count and estimate are computed in your browser.
Long scripts don't get sent to NarrateHQ as one oversized request — they're split into sections at sentence boundaries so each one stays inside the active provider's per-request limit, then generated with the same voice and delivery settings and merged back into one continuous take. This counter shows you the same character count that split is based on, so you can gauge length and estimate cost before you paste the script into Studio.
The splitting logic is language-aware, not one generic rule: Latin-script languages split differently from CJK text, and scripts without clear word breaks — Thai, Lao, Khmer, Myanmar — use a dedicated dictionary-based splitter instead of a plain whitespace cut, so a section boundary always falls where a listener would expect a pause rather than mid-word. Whatever language you're counting, this tool reports the same character total Studio uses to decide where one section ends and the next begins, and the same total the cost calculator multiplies against your plan's quality lane to price the job. Paste the full script rather than a rough guess at length — the estimate is only as accurate as the text you actually give it, and a script that changes length after a rewrite is worth re-checking here before you regenerate it in Studio.

Estimate uses English narration pacing (~1040 characters/minute), the same figure NarrateHQ's pricing page uses. Real duration depends on the selected voice and delivery.
