Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language template, not legal advice. If you operate in a jurisdiction with specific disclosure requirements (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), have a qualified lawyer review and adapt this before relying on it.

1. What we collect

Account data: email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier if you sign in with Google), and your subscription plan.
Content you provide: the narration scripts you paste or upload, pronunciation-dictionary entries, and voice/quality-tier preferences.
Generated content: the audio and subtitle files produced from your scripts.
Usage data: characters and credits consumed, job history, and basic request logs, used for billing accuracy and abuse prevention.
Payment data: handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe) — we never see or store your full card number.

2. How long we keep it

Data	Retention
Scripts (text you paste/upload)	Kept on your account indefinitely, until you delete them or close your account.
Generated audio & subtitles	7 days on the Free plan, 30 days on paid plans, then automatically deleted.
Account & billing records	Kept while your account is active, and afterward as required for tax/accounting purposes.

Note the difference: your scripts don't expire on their own — they stay on your account like any file you've saved, so you can regenerate audio from them later. Only the generated audio has an automatic expiry, tied to your plan.

3. Who processes your data

We use the following sub-processors to run the Service. They only receive the minimum data needed to perform their function:

Cloud text-to-speech providers — receive script text at synthesis time to generate audio. Not used for any purpose beyond generating your requested audio.
Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
Resend — transactional email (verification, password reset).
Cloudflare R2 (when configured) — storage for generated audio files.
Error monitoring (when configured) — receives technical error reports to help us fix bugs; configured to avoid capturing script content.

4. Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your scripts and audio at any time from within the Service. You can request full account deletion by contacting support — this removes your account, scripts, and any remaining generated audio.

5. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a CSRF-protection cookie for security. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics provider that doesn't track individual visitors across sites.

6. Children's privacy

The Service isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
